1800’s early 1900’s art nouveau bronzed box 6” X 9” X 2 ¼”. It is very detailed it is all hand crafted design of grapes on side and fine gemstones with great design, bronze lady in center. It is marked Empire Gold Art E.J.&B. Art Nouveau is considered a “total” art style, embracing architecture, and most period decorative arts including jewelry, furniture, and other textiles. Most popular during 1890–1910. English uses the French name Art nouveau (“new art”), but the style has many different names in other countries. Academic art of the 19th century, it was inspired by natural forms and structures, not only in flowers and plants, but also in curved lines. Architects tried to harmonize with the natural environments.

Original metal wood pipe axe tomahawk. It measures 17 ¾” and the axe is 7” with tip broken. When Europeans arrived in North America, they introduced the metal blade to the natives, which improved their lifestyle. It was easier for the Native Americans to hunt since these blades did not break as easily as stone. With the introduction of metal blades, the Native Americans created a tomahawk’s poll, which is the side opposite the blade, which consisted of a hammer, spike or a pipe. These became known as pipe tomahawks, which consisted of a bowl on the poll and a hollowed out shaft. These were created by European and American artisans for trade and diplomatic gifts for the tribes

1840 ORIGINAL WINTER WHITE HOUSE ART PAINTING BB PRINT SIGNED

This is an original 1840 signed BB print hand painted snow 11 ½” x 8 ½” art of White House. There is also faded signature on bottom left side of this piece. It has old wood frame. It is a delightful historical piece. This was done on cold winter day and months after, on April 14, 1840, as the House considered the appropriation of $3,665 for landscaping the grounds and repairing the White House furniture changed.

I lived very close to The first Buck knife factory in San Diego, and was later located to small building in Lemon Grove.   Buck Knives Inc. dates it history back over 100 years to the first knives made by Hoyt H. Buck. Hoyt H. Buck became a blacksmiths apprentice in Kansas in 1899 at the age of 10

1900 early sterling silver brown opal money clip. The art nouveau style is one of my favorite periods and designs next to art deco.   The money clip is a fashion accessory for a male wearer. There is not much history to the money clip due to currency was mostly coin during the times, there is evidence dating back during China’s Han Dynasty in 118 BCE, original lightweight bank notes were made of leather.

Beautiful hand crafted forged brass French table scale 18th Century.   The name scales derives from the pair of scales or dishes in which objects to be weighed and the weights / masses against which to weigh them are placed. The Oxford English Dictionary defines scales as “Apparatus for weighing. The oldest evidence for the existence of weighing scales dates to c. 2400-1800 B.C.E. in the Indus River valley (modern-day Pakistan)
